The Norden most of us belonged to was started by Carl L. Norden in 1943 as The Norden Laboratories Corporation. NLC (read Norden, Lucas, Carl) was established at Varrick Street in New York in 1943, totally separate from the Carl L. Norden Corp. which was busy manufacturing with no time or sponsors for research and development. Read Carl L. Norden's biography.
